Indonesia Bell 505 airspace reviw 640TNI-AL receives Bell 505

On 8 December 2021, the Tentara Nasional Indonesia - Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL, Indonesian Naval Aviation) officially received the first two, out of four, Bell 505 jet Ranger X basic training helicopters.

The ceremony for the induction of the new helicopters, serials HT-2301 (c/n 65352) and HT-2302 (c/n 65353), took place at Surabaya/Juanda on East Java, home of Wing Udara 1. The handover was witnessed by the Chief of Naval Staff (Kasal) Admiral Yudo Margono at the Juanda Aviation Museum Apron on the airbase.

The new training helicopters will be added to Skuadron Udara (RON) 200 (SkU200) which is based at Tanjung Pinang/Raja Haji Fisabilillah on the isle of Pulau Bintan in the northwest of the country close to Singapore. This unit currently operates two Airbus EC120 Colibri as a basic traning helicopter.

The Bell 505 Jet Ranger X (JRX) is an American/Canadian light helicopter developed by Bell Helicopter and produced by Bell Textron Canada. The helicopter was certified by Transport Canada in December 2016 and by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in June 2017. In August 2019 already 200 Bell 505s were delivered.
