TUDM internal transfer of VIP aircraft
On 17 May 2022, the Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM, Royal Malaysian Air Force) formally handed over CN235-220M serial M44-08 (construction number 056N) from 1 Skuadron Courage to 2 Skuadron Parakeet in its VIP configuration.
The aircraft transfer is part of TUDM’s Capability Development Plan 2055 (or CAP 55). With the squadron transfer, the CN235 now operates out of Subang/Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah instead of Kuching, where she was based previously.
Next to the VIP CN235, 2 Skuadron operates Airbus A319-115(ACJ) registration 9M-NAA, Falcon 900 serial M37-01 and Global Express serial M48-02.
CAP 55 was made public in August 2018 during a media interview ahead of the 2018 anniversay celebration. The air force published a graphic of the programme detailing its plans up to 2055.
