Another new Cessna 408-operator: Kamaka Air
Hawaiian based Kamaka Air received their first Cessna 408 SkyCourier on 10 February 2023 at the Cessna Textron Aviation facility in Wichita (KS) but only released picture of the happy event on 24 February 2023.
On 13 February 2023, N408KA (s/n 408-0009) started its ferry flight to Honolulu-Daniel K Inouye International Airport (HI), with stops in Dalhart (TX) and Las Vegas North (NV).
Kamaka Air ordered the Cessna 408 on 2 December 2021, adding this twin freighter to their existing fleet of six Cessna 208 Caravans. Kamaka Air collaborates with the United States Postal Service, UPS, FedEx, and other smaller companies that rely on air cargo service out of Honolulu towards the other Hawaiian Islands since 1993.
Kamaka Air is the third American operator of the Cessna 408 SkyCourier in the cargo configuration. Mountain Air Cargo and Empire Airlines both operate three airplanes each on behalf of FedEx Feeder.
