Cebu Pacific plans large narrowbody aircraft order

According to a recent interview with the CEO of Cebu Pacific in a news-outlet from the Philippines, the airline is set to formally issue a Request for Proposals (RfP) to both Airbus and Boeing. In the RfP, the airline is seeking to acquire between 100-150 new narrowbody aircraft.

A decision is planned for early 2024 and deliveries of the new aircraft should commence in 2027 and be completed by 2035. The CEO has also said that it will be a "winner takes all"-order, so no split order between the manufacturers.

Cebu Pacific wants to utilize the new aircraft to triple its fleet and capacity and is confident about future growth. Currently, the airline's fleet is composed of two ATR72-500Fs, one ATR72-500, fourteen ATR72-600s, twenty A320s, sixteen A320neos, seven A321s, twelve A321neos, one A330-300, and five A330-900s.
