China Airlines increases B787-order

Various Taiwanese media are reporting on 10 May 2023 that China Airlines has decided to increase its order for the B787-9 with Boeing. In total, the airline is converting its options for eight more Dreamliners, adding to the sixteen already ordered in August 2022. The additional B787-9s are planned for delivery from 2026 onwards. 

China Airlines is planning to use its 24 B787-9s as a replacement for its fleet of 22 Airbus A330-300s, which further consists of ten A321neos, fourteen A350-900s, twelve B737-800s, fourteen B747-400Fs, six B777Fs, and ten B777-300ERs.
