Ethiopian upsizes to A350-1000

Ethiopian Airlines has decided to convert four of its outstanding A350-900 orders into the largest A350-1000. With this order, the airline becomes the first customer for the A350-1000 in Africa. Ethiopian Airlines plans to use the four to replace its current four Boeing B777-300ERs in the fleet.

The carrier has, in total, ordered 22 A350s. Sixteen A350-900s have, so far, been delivered. Next to the A350s, Ethiopian operates a fleet of six Boeing B737-700s, 23 B737-800s, seven B737-8s, three B767-300ERs, six B777-200LRs, four B777-300ERs, nine B777Fs, nineteen B787-8s, eight B787-9s and 33 DHC-8-400s.
