FedEx receives first Cessna SkyCourier

On 9 May 2022, Textron Aviation announced its first Cessna 408 SkyCourier delivery to FedEx Express.

This comes after achieving Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) type certification in March 2022. The first delivery comes a little less than two years after the type's first flight on 17 May 2020.

The Cessna 408 SkyCourier was developed in response to FedEx's requirements for a utility aircraft.

FedEx is a long-time Cessna operator, as the cargo variant of the Cessna 208 was also due to a request from FedEx.

FedEx has ordered fifty SkyCouriers, with options for fifty more.
