The Iberostar Group, one of the world's largest leisure companies, is planning to establish its own airline called World2Fly. The Group acknowledges that these are challenging times, but also see this time as an opportunity to reduce dependency on other airlines, acquire aircraft at competitive pricing and the possibility to create "travel bubbles". This means that travellers can be isolated and separated from other companies providing a better security against infection with COVID-19.

The new airline is busy obtaining its AOC, which it expects to receive early next year. Fleetwise they have signed a lease-agreement for an A350-900 and is also thinking about adding a second one later in 2021. World2Fly is aiming to start flying in April 2021, connecting Spain with destinations in Cuba, Dominican Republic and Mexico.
