Lufthansa Group welcomes 600th Airbus

With a special ceremony at the Airbus Delivery Center at Hamburg-Finkenwerder on 24 May 2023, Lufthansa Group took delivery of its 600th Airbus. The happy subject, wearing large "600" decals is Lufthansa's A321-200NX D-AIEQ (11267), which later flew to Munich and even conducted its first commercial flight from there to Cairo.

The relation between Airbus and Lufthansa Group goes back almost 50 years, when Lufthansa in 1976 took delivery of its first A300. Since then, the airline group has operated nineteen different Airbus family aircraft; the A220-100, A220-300, A300B2-1, A300B4-2, A310-200, A310-300, A319-100, A320-200, A320-200N, A321-100, A321-200, A321-200NX, A330-200, A330-300, A340-200, A340-300, A340-600, A350-900, and A380-800.

In 2026, when Lufthansa is celebrating its centennial, the Group expects to welcome its 700th Airbus.
