Nauru Airlines welcomes 1st 737-800SF

On 8 August 2023, Nauru Airlines unveiled its first Boeing B737-800SF at its base at Brisbane, Australia. The aircraft is registered VH-8TG (33003) and is set to enter commercial service in the coming weeks. It will be used to fly cargo between Nauru and Australia but will also be available for Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance (ACMI)-flights.

The B737-800SF is joining a fleet of two B737-300s, two B737-300SFs (one parked at Norwich) and a single B737-700. Nauru Airlines, which is the only airline on the island has its official base in Brisbane. It focuses on connecting Nauru with Australia and other destinations in the Pacific. As these operations, however, are not profitable on its own, the company is also regularly conducting ACMI-flights for other carriers in the region.
