West Atlantic Sweden retires final ATP(F)

An end of an era occured on 24 February 2023, when West Atlantic Sweden retired its final BAe ATP(F). The aircraft involved, SE-LGZ (2021) operated its final commercial flight from Jönköping to Oslo and was then ferried to Malmö-Sturup for storage.

West Atlantic Sweden and its predecessors West Air Sweden and West Air Europe operated a total of 41 different ATP(F)s since 2000. With the withdrawal of the type, the airline's fleet is reduced to four B737-800BCF/SFs.

According to CH-Aviation, only two operators of the ATP remain in the world, Aerospace Consortium in Kenya and Deraya Air Taxi in Indonesia. In total, 65 ATPs were built, which flew for the first time on 6 August 1986.
