WestJet Group acquires Sunwing Vacations and Sunwing Airlines

The WestJet Group has announced it has reached an agreement to acquire Sunwing Vacations and its airline, Sunwing Airlines. Once the deal is finalized, WestJet will establish a new tour operating business unit, which will also include WestJet Vacations and will be managed by the CEO of Sunwing.

As mentioned, Sunwing Airlines will also become part of the WestJet Group and for now the airline will remain in place and continue to operate with its own brand. Next to Sunwing, the WestJet Group also operates WestJet and Swoop.

Sunwing Airlines currently has a fleet of 22 B737-800s and six B737-8s.
