RIAT departure day

Post by lievers-online »

Not seen this topic yet,
In my mind the best day to fist the RIAT is always the departure day, sure some things you only see from a long distance as they take off straight in to the air (not only helicopters do this, (stupid Euro fighter pilot's!)) but some time it's reasonable good.
The only thing that could spoil the day was the sun (which we probably had for 40 percent of the day unfortunately)

no offence but to make these kind of shots you need to be at the grandstand. Which is only possible if you have a mach3 card for about 120 pound or so. To me very expensive pictures. But if money is no deal, it is the best place to shoot the riat participants.

Hmm, I don´t think I want to know what that feels like

But seriously, the pictures are nice, just a pitty of the grey weather.

Wasn't the east-end Park and View not opened? For here you can make excellent takeoff shots.

Of course true ;-) I had to mention start of take-off roll instead of the actual take-off ;-)

Less milimeters needed here but also less action.

So that makes it 10 euro each... ? Best way to "fist"? the RIAT must be in the field opposite the grandstand during Thursday and Friday (but only without clear blue skies or late afternoon for taxi-shots). 90% of the arrivals and 80% of the airshow can be seen there. But nevertheless two great pictures.

Cheers,

MKIII is not full frame. It's 1.3x crop. What ever on the place they were taken, they are nice but without any sun, so they are just nice. And sharp.
