Luke AFB, february 24

Post by rogierottens »

On february 24th I was at Luke AFB to get some Vipers in front of my lens and they didn't disappoint me! We had over 80 different flying F-16's that day. At first we were standing at the north side in the approach end, that didn't last long. It took maybe 10minutes before the security forces came over and paid us a visit. After that we went to the southern end. This place isn't as good as the approach end you will need at least 400mm, I've got 300mm. Later in the afternoon when the sun turns around it is a nice place when they take the 21right to train the touch-and-goes.

On with the pics!

Nice collection. Consider yourself a lucky guy. When I was there a few months ago I could not get anywhere near the base with a camera before the security send me away.
Shame to see what I've missed. ;)
I always say a boy can learn more at an airport than at any school.

Weird, two years ago we spent almost two days on the north side with no problems at all... They seem very tense now there.
