Fort Worth NAS JRB/Carswell Field, TX (NFW) - 2012 MIL

Post by sdamico »

3 x F-16 left Fort Worth for Morocco on Wed 2 May. (First delivery to Morocco since December?) Does anyone have serials/callsigns?

Cannot confirm this so don't shoot the messenger but from a source they should've been 08-8014/15/16. Do not know call sign.

With this said this completes the delivery of the Moroc Vipers out of FW. There are two more Vipers left but they reside at Edwards.

Are there not three left at Ft Worth aside from the two that are going/have gone to Edwards?

LOG 7-5-2012
1600-1800lt

Really quiet here, no flying aircraft although there were some ground movements.
When I arrived Be200 ODIN 40319 was making some turns at the holding of rwy 35.
Thereafter KC130 164999 taxied out to the hold to taxi back to its spot.
Ranger04 KC130 1632022 was taxiing out for its destination Ft Campbell but again taxied back
I then moved to the front porch of LMTAS to see F35B VM-04 being pulled, while in the first hangar a RAF F35B could be seen next to another JSF.
While spotting from Walgreen I noted VM-09 between some hangars but VM-06 was pulled from one hangar into another one.

Hi Piet,

Glad you made it. Crappy weather however. For tomorrow even worse.

The RAF B should be ZM135. I saw it last Wednesday being tucked into the same hangar. And in case you wonder the other B models have not left the final assembly line as far as I know so ZM135 is the only option.

If the weather would've been better I would've swung by tomorrow. No such luck. Hopefully you'll see something else come out and play.

Cheers,

Seb.

The other JSF should be the first dutch F-35 AN-1/F-001 as this is the only one with no markings on its tail.

There are no yanks in the south!!! Only :gun: and :2gunfire: happy southerners. LOL.

Jep, especially with new hardware. Do not expect them to fly. Perhaps some Spads but they just had their drill weekend so might be rather slow as well.

LOG 8 May 2012

Again a very cloudy day in Texas. Just a good thing I had nothing special planned just a day at the fence of Navy. Flying was oke but the pictures were horrible as at some stages there was no light a all. First, at 0900lt, I made a tour along the eastern vista points at Maria Samson Pak to read off the F-16s, C-130Hs and a C-40. A C-9 was ready for taxi and departed slightly later unnoted. Mornings were spend at Walmart and afternoons along Lockheed drive on spot 1. At mid day, the runway closed for two hours so I even could do a proper hamburger meal and some shopping for the missus. BTW the ATIS freq has been changed to 351.675. HAs anybody some info on the LMTAS F-16? It was flying with no markings in standard USAF grey scheme.

LOG 9 May 2012: 0900-1300LT:
Finally a very sunny bright day. I arrived at the Walmart spot 3 to see a lot of action this day. First two Hornets departed with the MA-06 being one of the first refurbished F/A-18A++ models. I could not read the serial block however and the pilot was not wearing the newest helmet so I could not conform it. But during my last visit the unit gave me this information. Thereafter a lot of local Vipers took off. I moved to the Taco Bell spot 2 to picture the aircraft in the landing. At that stage I heard callsign STRIKE01. Not knowing what to expect, I returned to the Walmart only to see a F-35B taxiing out at the taxi track along the Walmart. Excellent! When I returned to spot 2 again for the arrival of the F-35, even two Homestead Vipers made their lunch stop here. The Talons were on their way to Alliance mostly for their lunch stop and made some touch and goes, callsigns heard were CHALK35 and ENJET30. At 1300lt I packed my stuff and departed to DFW for my flight home.

Nice log Piet. Too bad the weather was not great. But heck, we need the rain over here. The next four months is nothing more then blue skys with 40 C weather.

In regards to your 83-1137 sighting that is the LMTAS chase from Marietta previously used for the F-22 program. I found out all three Vipers from Marietta were at Navy not too long ago. The others actually still wore the "EF" tailcode from their previous squad. However they have departed to a unknown destination.

Will put up my log from yesterday if I can find some time.
