Superb weather condition at Hispanic Day 2023. Nine Eurofighter EF2000 from Ala 11 and Ala 14 joined in formation 2. (all photos by Hans van Herk)
No less than 86 aircraft participated in this year's flypast. The route was a different compared with 2022, this time the aircraft flew from the south to the north parallel to the Paseo del Prado.
Taking photos of the aircraft was best possible between the Estacion de Madrid - Puerta de Atocha and the Ministerio de Agricultura. Others tried a location near the Staue of Jacinto Benevente in the Parque de El Retiro, which also turned out to be a good spot.
Just before the flight parade, two paratroopers were dropped from a CASA 212. The flying parade started with the Patrulla Aguila flying from west to east, showing the Spanish colours. The demonstration team also ended as the last formation in the flypast.

The Hornets operated by Ala 12 from Torrejón and Ala 15 from Zaragoza made up this nine-ship formation with more than half of it consisting of dual-seat EF-18BMs.

Formation 6 "In-flight refueling" saw the A400M in front of an Ala 15 EF-18BM and an Ala 11 EF2000T. Remarkably, one would suspect the A400M to carry a TK.23-xx serial, but this was not the case.
