Ecuador gets first two H145s on its birthday

On 27 October 2020, the two first H145Ms were handed over by Airbus to the Fuerza Aérea Ecuatoriana (FAE, Ecuadorian Air Force).

This comes on a special date as 27 October 1920 was the day the FAE was officially formed. So happy 'Centenario' to FAE, 100 years is a very respectable age!

We also wish many hours of happy operations for Escuadrón de Combate 2211 Cobras at Base Aérea Simon Bolivar, Guayaquil, that is going to operate the fleet of eventually six machines.

The contract for the six H145Ms was concluded on 27 November 2019. The FAE had the Indian HAL Dhruv on strength, but these were all withdrawn from use in 2015. Mid 2019, Ecuador started a search for a new helicopter that could replace the Dhruvs.

At the Donauwörth factory (Germany), the H145Ms were test flown with registrations D-HADT and D-HBTS respectively. Their future FAE serials are still unknown. If you have updates on the serials and/or construction numbers please contact us via the Ecuador update form.
