US USAF 98th FTS UV 18B Centennial State Spotter 640"Just a nice Picture ...!"

On 4 January 2023, a rare 98th Flying Training Squadron UV-18B Twin Otter was photographed while arriving as "Congo 65" at Colorado Springs Municipal Airport (CO).

This special coloured UV-18B with serial number 77-465 (77-0465) "Stand in the door" and convenient code "98", has a World War II C-47 Dakota livery and is one of three Twin otters within the United States Air Force Academy's inventory and has Peterson Space Force Base, adjacent to Colorado Springs Municipal Airport, as its home. This specific aircraft was first noted in this heritage colourscheme in March 2020.

Based on DeHavilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter, the UV-18 is in mainly in use as a jump trainer for the Air Force Academy.

The following Twin Otters are in use with the 98th FTS: UV-18A 82-835/AF (82-23835), UV-18Bs 77-464/AF (77-0464) and 77-465 (77-0465).
