Super Huey II of the Colombian Army suffers mishap

On 11 October 2020, during operations in Antioquia province, north western Colombia, a Bell UH-1H Super Huey II of the Aviación del Ejército (Colombian Army) experienced in-flight problems.

The helicopter was approaching the 24th Ground Operations Batallon, when the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing in a field, severely damaging the helicopter.

The location of the accident is near Taraza, and the four occupants of the UH-1H Super Huey II were wounded, but are reported to be in a stable condition. 

The serial of the helicopter involved is EJC5402 (ex 66-16700, constrcution number 8894) and is part of Batallon de Aviacion No.5 Movimiento Aereo based at AT General Gustavo Rojas Pinilla, Fuerte Tolemaida. The Colombian Army operates about twenty Super Huey IIs.
