Many MiG-21s found their way to North Korea, despite a UN imposed arms embargo. No more than a dozen are still active. Only a handful of L-39Cs remain airworthy. UM 2003 is the parent unit for the DAAFAR's Mi-17 helicopters. Detachments are at Holguin and Santa Clara.

The MiG-21 is the sole fighter type left in service. Only one squadron flies these old Cold War jets.

DAAFAR

Mi-17s were delivered to the DAAFAR from 1983. Most still in use however were received from Angola. This example is equipped with a hoist and rocketpods to perform a variety of roles.
