Especially as they seem to be using a supersonic 321 for the new flight (seems to take an hour less!)

Onto new news: bmibaby have announce Manchester-AMS twice daily from 29th March (except Saturday)

Sun: WW3113/4 arr 1120 dep 1150; WW3111/2 arr 2150 dep 2220
Mon-Fri: WW3113/4 arr 0835 dep 0905; WW3111/2 arr 1805 dep 1835

An interview in the Manchester Evening News with Flybe also had them planning to start MAN-AMS flights, but didn't give any further details.

Cheers,
Richard

Air Berlin in april weer terug op Schiphol

29-09-2008

On a different forum I found this;

==

Gulf Air is poised for a major expansion in the long-haul market, adding up to six European destinations to its network next year.

As part of its summer schedule for 2009, the Bahraini national carrier says it is hoping to launch flights to Amsterdam, Rome, Milan, Munich, Moscow and Warsaw.

However, the decision on whether to go ahead depends on the level of the oil price. At $100-110 a barrel, the company will launch three or four destinations, and then review launching a further two or three.

However, any rise in the cost of fuel beyond that level could limit the number of new destinations, or even lead to the whole expansion programme being postponed.

"We have to decide which markets have the potential to bring enough passengers to Bahrain," says Bjorn Naf, chief executive officer of Gulf Air.

Would certainly be nice to see them at AMS!

According this news item (in Dutch), Italian carrier Windjet would like to start flights between Forli (near Bologna) and Amsterdam from next summer. They will operate with 2 weekly A319/A320 flights. There are no details about schedules right now.

Would be nice to see Brussels Airlines here again (well, they never flew here as 'Brussels Airlines', but you know what I mean). I'd love to fly to BRU, instead of take the car all the way there, or the train.

And what about Emirates? Some months ago they stated that they would come to Amsterdam 'if fuel prices would drop'. Any news?
