Some infos. for 2013.
1. Blue Impulse(T-4) returned to Matsushima A.B..

2. JASDF/JGSDF/JMSDF are "holiday" on Sat. and Sun. in Japan. There are no activities.
(Except routine maritime patrol, exercise, emergency and /or some special missions)

3. There remains about 60 F-4EJ kai s at 301sqn.(Nyutabaru), 302sqn.(Hyakuri) and
ADTW(Gifu). 7 original F-4EJs are also flying at Gifu(TPC use).
You can see them at least FY2016-end(March of the 2017)

4. There are totally 8 RF-4E/EJs flying at 501sqn.(Hyakuri).

5. JMSDF has stopped to operate their Kawasaki P-1s(Prodution type:5503-5506) since 13 May, 2013.
Because of the trouble that all 4 engines made flame-out during the test flight of the 5505 on 13 May.
The 1st. P-1(5501) will modify to UP-1(Flying test bed) in this year.
The 2nd. one is still at Atsugi.

6. Military Review of the JSDF will be held at JGSDF Asaka(Saitama pref.) this year.
(27 Oct.)

7. Some guys said, they will hold the Senkyo(Shortend term of the "Sengi-Kyougikai" in Japanese, meaning "The ACM meet in JASDF") in late-September. No more infos. by now.

8. Less than 15 UH-1"H"s are still flying in the JGSDF. Others are UH-1"J"s.

9. YS-11M/MA(9041, 9042, 9043, 61FS/JMSDF) will replace by 6 2nd-hand C-130Rs
by Nov.2014.

10. US-1A(9090) will fly 2 more years(at leaset).

11. JASDF Naha is "hot" now. Some F-15 sqn.s often visit to.
(because of the CAP missions around the Senkaku-islands)
YS-11EB, EP-3C, OP-3C, E-2Cs are often come to Naha, too.

12. F-22s are now at Kadena, Okinawa.(16 Aug., 2013)

13. There are now 24 MV-22Bs at MCAS Futemma, Okinawa. CH-47Es are retired.
You also can see UH-1Ys and AH-W/Zs at Futemma now.

Hi,
Based on the IRAN(Inspections and Repair As Necessary) interval at MHI, I expect that the JASDF will use F-4s two more years. In this case, it means FY2013 and FY2014.

If the JASDF send their Phantoms to the MHI for the IRAN in FY2013, it means that they will use the Phantoms two more years(FY2014-2015). But the Budget of FY2013 is not decided by now(It will be decided on June 2013).
So I have no expection about it.

Further, the Phantoms will replace by the F-35s, but you've known it, the delivery of the F-35s will delay.
I don't know what will happen on FY2015 in Japan.

In conclusion, if you want to see Japanese Phantoms, you had better to come to Japan by the March of 2015(The end of the FY2014), I think.

Blue Impulse will return to Matsushima on 31 Mar..

25 Mar. Blue Implulse Bye-bye flight at JASDF Ashia, open to the public 0830-1110.
(No car parking area in the base) (B.I. flight from 0950-)
28 Mar. They will fly from Ashiya to Hyakuri(Stay Hyakuri until 31).
31 Mar. They will fly from Hyakuri to Matsushima.

They revised the schedule on their HP today.
It maybe the mistake of the PRO.

(They will not open the base. See the show from outside of the base.)

2 P-1s(03 & 04) seems to come to JMSDF Atsugi(VX-51) on 28 Mar..
TH-480B trainig flight will start at JGSDF Kita-Utsunomiya from April.
