Sigma Announcement: 150-600 mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM

Post by mo76 »

Hi all,

Just found this announcement here - same zoom range as the Tamron.

http://www.optyczne.pl/7378-news-Sigma_ ... S_HSM.html

Weighs in at 2860 g, whereas the Tamron stays just a little below 2 kg.
Kind regards,

Michael

Well let's hope that the Sigma is sharper at 600mm than the Tamron - that lens should really have been build and sold as a 150-500mm!

Is it really that bad at 600mm Erik? I have seen lots of pictures of this lens at 600mm that look rather sharp to me. Check for example the bird pictures of Kristofer Rowe at Flickr.com, taken with a D7100 plus 150-600, most shot at the full 600mm. That combination is exactly what I am looking at too.

Bas

PS maybe better to post the reply in the Tamron topic iso this Sigma topic.
