Question about my (to fix) lens

Hi all,

I'm having issues with my Sigma 50-500 APO HSM lens lately. When I twist the zoom ring to the higher mm's the lens is very stiff and I need to apply a lot of power to move it.
The lens has been in my possession since the day I bought it on 2010-11-17. Is it possible that the lens needs some kind of lubrication?

Hope to hear you're tips and tricks and maybe a solution or company that can fix this, I'm living in the area of Utrecht. I'm visiting HKG in the last week of this month so I really hope that it can be repaired before I go there.
