NAS Fallon - 20 Agressors in one photo

Post by Iwan Bogels »

Hi guys,

While going through some old photos I came across a panorama that I once shot at NAS Fallon. Today I got Autostitch to weld the 12 photos together, and below you can see the result. Each part of the panorama was shot with a Canon EF 50mm/f1.8 at 1/500, f13, ISO 200 on a Canon EOS-5D Mark II.

Sometimes photography can be fun, especially with a grand view like this.

Cheers,
Iwan

Really nice shot! What a view they have over there.

Just wondering. In the left upper corner you can see three aircraft. I wonder, are these three seperate aircraft? Or is it the same one photographed three times?

Nice view! If you were that to do right now you'll only see sunsheds on the VFC-13 part of the ramp... Luckily NSAWC will not go for sheds.

Do you mean the aircraft taking off, going from right to left?
Assume makes an ASS of U and ME.

Hi guys,

That aircraft that you see three times is one and the same F-16. So no you can get an idea of how many shots I used to get this composition. :-) Yes, I was shooting from right to left.

Hope this helps,
Iwan

Thanks for the info. It certainly was not intended as a negative remark. I really love the result and was just interested.

Just one little comment, with the time and effort that went into making the shot, couldn´t you have filled the gaps on the ramp? Now 40 Agressors in one shot would have been something!

Haha, I wish ! That gap was filled all day by eight LF F-16's. I shot these when they taxied by my position along the taxiway. To be honest, I like the ramp better without the F-16's. It's more genuine, I think.
