Lost my lens. Please help

Post by ReneHenckens »

Hey people,

While plane-spotting at Schiphol today, I was stupid enough to leave my camera-bag unattended for a while. And while we were walking back to the car, I forgot to take it with me.

When I found out I didn't have it with me, I rushed back to the place where I left it, but it was gone :(

I don't really care about the bag itself, but it had my precious Canon 24-70 2.8L lens in it.

I know this is my own stupid fault, but what's done is done (Yes, I'm an idiot)
But I would like to ask you guys if you have seen anything at Schiphol airport today. I left it by the side of the road where the planes taxi over the canal towards the Polderbaan (rwy 36L - 18R). We left that spot at 13:18 (last picture taken from that location). THIS is the placemark in Google Maps.
So if you have seen anything today, PLEASE let me know

I know this is a long shot, but I have to try

Too bad man, sorry for your loss. You could contact the KMAR or local police. Maybe they found the unattended bag and took it with them. Hpe you will find the lens back!

Rene,

That's a big bummer! Despite the fact you lost the lens, i very much respect the fact that you stayed untill the end, and made the best of it. All in all we had a great day, but oh boy was it cold! I can't help to think of that older man that has parked his bike against the little electra house, and was making pictures through the fence. I very often see this man around EHAM. He definitly was the last man in the near vacinity of your bag, since his bike was allmost parked on top of it.......next time i see him, i will sure have a chat with him....
Shoot first, edit later! :-)

Report has been filed. I went to the nearest police station and reported it as lost. Hope some hones person returns it...

@wildweasel: yeah..I could go home, but the damage was done. It's a long trip so I wanted to make the best of it.
Going home just would have meant I was being miserable here. This way I at least got some decent shots...
