ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Japan 2015 October part 3:Hyakuri, Nyutabaru

Post by Lifeliner 3 »

(I hit the 'submit' button a bit too soon, so I'll just split the report in two).

After a slightly disappointing Tuesday, we only had one more day (Wednesday) to spend at Hyakuri. We teamed up with 4Aviation again today - and what a day it was!
Number of F-4 sorties were not what it used to be, compared to some years ago. But still enough to keep us more than happy!
Seeing F-4s testing the barrier was quite unique - photos of that have been posted already some time ago.

Highlights of the day:

We waited until sundown for the blue RF-4E to return, but unfortunately it didn't. It was not until later at home, editing the photos, that I noticed a travel pod on the starboard pylon.

Thursday morning, we took the early morning flight to Miyazaki. After a smooth flight and a fast rental car pick-up, we drove to Nyutabaru.
Some kilometres away from the base, we alreay saw the first Phantoms in the circuit, returning from the morning mission. We missed those by 10 minutes or so! :-(
As usual, after the Phantoms the F-15s came out to play. Not just the 23 Hikotai Eagles, but also the Hiko Kyodogun Aggressor Eagles were very active that day!
