Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Namibian delights [CIV+ 1 MIL]

Post by PH-BRAD »

Hello,

I spent my time in Namibia this summer, besides lots of animals this were some highlights I've seen:

1. Shitty quality but what an aircraft! Taken at Walvis Bay (signs on the fence said "NO PHOTOGRAPHING")
Image

The following pictures are all taken at Windhoek Eros Airport from 14-16th of August.

2. I walked to the airport to look if there was something to see. Many black expensive cars then turned up and I saw the tail of V5-GON. Went back to the hotel to capture it in departure, unfortunatly it rotated quite late.

3. Nice DHL Caravan

4. Seen this one everywhere in Namibia, but this is the only proper picture I've got
Image
5. Cessna 210, plenty of those in Namibia
Image
6. Westair's Embraer 145
Image
7. The highlight civilwise was this good ol' Commander
Image
8. Gotta love Grand Caravans
Image
9. Nice Beechjet, also operated by Westair
Image
10. THE highlight aviationwise, a Namibian Air Force Chetak. My first Namibian AF aircraft although I've visted the country for four times.

What hotel du you use at Eros?

One month later an you would have found the NASA U-2 at Walvis Bay

Just back from a couple week Namibia (Caprivi) myself, but apart form V5-HNP AS.350 of the Namibian Police far away on an anti-poaching patrol above Mudumo NP no planes seen...

I stayed at the Safari Hotel. Pics 2, 3, 4, 8 and 9 are taken from its pool. Picture 7 is taken from the Safari Court Hotel from I think the second highest level on the stairs.
