Ramstein 21 and 22 March

In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Did some extreme spotting both days, snow,hail,rain, but also nice weather. Here some examples of 2 days great spotting.

Great pictures! from which spot did you take the runway shots?

The spot is not hard to find, when you are there figure it out........ but it is a tricky spot, you are vissible for the police and they don't like you there.

No problems with guards/police as I see the runway shots taken towards the base
No problems, we where checked several time's by the german squads and they checked our ID's and made some phonecalls with HQ.....

PLZ park your cars not in the neighbourhood of the base. Parking on the flowershop is approved when the flowershop is actually there, otherwise park in Kindsbach and take the half hour walk !!, trust me it's the best option.

It's perfectly fine to stand on this particular spot and look at the aircraft on base. The German police and the American MPs (who may phone local german police) do make an exception for photography of base infrastructure, like in these pictures. They do make a point of this being expressly forbidden and I can tell you they will definitely not be happy when they see you there taking pictures towards the base.

And I am guessing you might be causing trouble for other spotters by simply posting your pictures with base infrastructure here. ... So warning others about not parking near this spot is a bit ironic after you posted these pics... :roll:

Although I understand your concerns Richard, I must admit that this thingy called Google Earth isn't helping the boys and girls from the USAF security police very much. Just check the whereabouts of 49°26'11.58"N / 7°35'40.66"E Making pictures of this realltime is a different story, but the info is out there for everyone to see..

Richard,

There are other official (photo) site's where you can find pics with planes and infrastructure on the picture. I think it's a little retrieved. When i get a official warning from national security or whatever i will not post again....

I was there with George, so here some pics I shot.............

We only had some troubles with parking our car. The MP's nor the polizei told us we had to leave the spot we were standing. They allready know about this forum, flugzeugforum and planepictures.net where these pics are shown. If they really didn't like it the FBI, CIA, NSA or whatever allready made contact with the sites administrators...

Like the pics and FWIW: we will never move towards self-imposed censorship as far as open source information and pics are concerned!
