FIDAE 2008, Santiago, Chile (a few photos)

Post by canberra »

Hola Amigos,

Just back from a visit to FIDAE in Santiago and would like to show a few photos Hope you don't mind.

I anyone had forgotten where they were Brazilian Air Force display Team 'Fumaca' with their seven Tucanos gave a good hint
Image

It was rather difficult to take static shots due to people, fences, flags, signs, banners etc. Here is an overview of part of part of the static area taken from the stairs of a German A310.
Image

Highlight for most people was probably the A380 display. And I must say it was quite impressive. Also the take-off from the narrow dusty runway made for a good show. Maybe one of the reasons for my many dustspots.
Image

Image

Highlight for me displaywise was the B-1B, a first for me
Image

Another first for me was the Argentinean AT-63 Pampa.
Image

It was not all airshow though; I also spend some time at the other runway shooting airliners. Even there you couldn’t avoid those military =censored=.
Image

That was about it for now, more to come if you like

All the best, Michael

That 727 (ex J-622) looks like it's an F-16C model with that little tailfin ;) Nice optical illusion!

Believe that little tailfin ispart of a C-130J in the background

Anyway a friend of mine complained that Ididn't have enough propblur on most of my photos so I experimented a bit. They are not super sharp (most also cropped a bit to much) but let me hear what you think.

592 C-130B Fuerza Aérea Uruguaya was one of the nice visitors
