Q-Day at Wittmund

Post by Arnold ten Pas »

Hi,

Some photos from Wittmund yesterday. Very enjoyable day with friends, sun and aircraft!

When we arrived around 09.00, the first aircraft of the AM-mission returned:

Hi Arnold,

Were were you standing? @ which spot# according to the scramble database?

I was looking for the 08 holding point, but after driving a few hundred meters on a dirt road with lots of bumps I didn't dare to go further and went back to the main road and eventualy went to spot # 4 along the fence, first near the radar, later a bit more towards your position I think (a long the fence between runway nrs 3 & 4 (the blue signs with white letters).

It was a nice day with lots of (different) Phantoms.

Greetings,

King

Positions

Post by Arnold ten Pas »

Hi,

I started out at position 4, which indeed requires some driving along dirt-roads, and used several positions along the fence between position 3 and 4. Holding point for runway 08 is at position 4!

Inspiring shots Arnold (so inspiring I just planned a dash there for Wednesday). Love the early shots and the smoking break!
