Those Greek RF-4s are just great! Good to see that you seem to get your share of Greek fighters at Aviano. Are those aircraft generally on a navigation trip or do they fancy to visit the BX?

Good weekend!

Both things!

After several monthes , last greek visitor was an F-16D on Nov 19th, they returned to visit Aviano, just hope they will keep on....

Does some one knows or they fly back via Grosseto the comming week?
Normally in the past they flew directly to their home base.

Req: serial of the second Phantom and i/d of F-16 coded 'S'

Post by Basman »

Hi all and especially Claudio,

Nice pics of the Phantoms of the 9th of may! I was in the neighbourhood during a business trip and convinced my colleague to make a quick stop. We stepped out of our car and wham!, the two greeks passed over our heads for their first pass. Nice to see them make a couple of (high) passes before breaking and landing.
Unfortunately, we parked just a little too far away, you (Claudio) might have seen us in our dark blue rental Alfa 159.

The second F-4 in your pictures has a very faded serial, could anyone confirm if this is 01500?
Besides that, I saw an F-16 in the shelter area coded 'S'. It's in Claudio's pictures of may the 2nd, with serial 0833 on the nose and nothing on the tail. Is this the only one flying with this serial presentation and is it a new arrival for Aviano, or on tdy?

Bas
