Manchester spotting

Post by EC »

Its already a month ago but early May I made a two day visit to Manchester (UK).
Manchester is one of my favorite airports because it has many, many very good photopoints
and I really like the green fields around the runway. If the sun also shines the world is perfect.

These are some of the regulars, in no particular order:

I was there during the UEFA soccer final between Zenith St Petersburg and Glasgow Rangers, this resulted in a number of Russian vistors:

This many vistors spurred the flying bobbies into additional action

Hope you liked the series,

Great shots and a nice diversity of aircraft.
Looks like Manchester is well worth a visit.
Kind regards

Not trying to spoil the fun but weren't some/many of these football charters to/from Moscow? I hope not, though...

Indeed. These charters brought the Russian fans for the match FK Zenit Sint-Petersburg - Glasgow Rangers

However Manchester is a great airport to visit, also without these charters :D

Thanks for the kind replies

As indicated in the comments (its easy to scroll past a single line of text)
The russians were indeed for the UEFA final and apart from the aeroflot cargo, they are not regulars at Manchester.

it is very easy to do a day spotting in Manchester. VLM has a morning and an evening direct flight between RTM and MAN against a reasonable price.

EC nice shots, did you bring some kind of step ladder with you? I believe that and the site you took pics it is a requirement to bring one?
