Wittmund, the day after...

Post by Heron »

Goodmeurnin',

as a few friends and I weren't able to go to the spottersday at Wittmundhafen, we decided to go a day later.
Here are some shots of thursday 31 july 2008:

01 Speeding over the base:

02 Love the light reflecting off the runway to "light-up" the underside!

03 In the early morning this one was towed, but it didn't fly that day...

04 Only a touch-and-go.

05 I saw the third oldest AND the third newest F-4F on this day.

06 the third newest:

07 Peek-a-boo!

08 As if 31 degrees C wasn't hot enough already...

09 3781 made a single-engined approach and overshoot (first picture cropped a lot as you can see):

OK, some pictures suffer from heatwaves, but it is either that or no pictures at all...

Bert.

Very nice pics!

Single-engine overshoot is nice to see, never seen it before on a picture.

Greetings, Arjan

Nice pictures,
A shame for the people that went on the "spottersday that the 37+48 wasn't on the static. Lucky for you the hangar was open and A-4N N432FS was visible from outside. With Phantoms and Skyhawks Wittmund looks like Hatzerim (Israel) in the old days.
