I don't know why, and I really mean it, since a few weeks ago that I've started felling curious about this airport. Just today I found out that it's the bussiest in whole Africa as for aircraft movements, and now I find this photo topic. Thank you so much for sharing these photos ( the one where you can have an overview of the busy apron sure tells alot from this airport.

By the way, how did you had acess to the apron? Did you just ask permission to the security?

Thanks and best regards

Thanks for the encouragements guy's, we really appreciate.

I have heard this claim about the bussiest airport in Africa before, this may be so at specific times but during the weekday we were there, there were not that many movements.
The platform and hangars you see in Maarten's shot however are only about a third of the platforms and hangars.

Lanseria is generally very spotter friendly, we wrote in advance to the airport management (e-mail on their website) and were granted permission to come and visit.

here are some more, als bigger jets.

Phoebus Apollo are also converting to jets, I love this position, on the terrace of the terminal, which is on a hill much higher then the runways.

Great stuff! Difficult to pick one that really stands out, as they all contribute to a great collection.

Lengthening my wishlist once again,

  Very very spectacular!

BTW: Was it all that easy accessible or how did you gain access to those hangars?

Acces to hangars is often very easy once you are past the security checkpoint, just ask and people normally don't mind.

final batch for Lanseria from my side.
