Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Wales is great, except for the steep climbs to the Bwlch and Cad West. ;-) But once you get up there, the view is magnificent and the action is addictive !

Low level photography in Wales is like doing the hobby in the "old days": You never know what you will get, so you just go out there and hope for the best.

During my first day in Wales, there was a 6 hour gap between flying activities, so there was plenty of time to play around with my camera. The result was a nice 240-degrees panoramic shot from the Bwlch. Check out the sun and my shadow........these should be 180 degrees opposite from eachother.

Location (see Google Earth): 52'44"05.5 N 003' 46" 27.0 W with the center of the image facing roughly to the northeast.

Great Herc shot Hammie, you really knew how to play with your shutterspeed! IS is a wonderful invent too :) Don't bother to mention your last pic... :D

Hard to be creative with all those great shots! I had an very enjoyable time. Third time for me in the area and I can say this one was the best. Although traffic was very slow compared to the other visits quality was very high, with every day at least 3 Herc's, two Tonka's at one day and two new Hawk T2's from which one was in primer.

Weather conditions were typically Waleserians, monday clear blue skies, tuesday afternoon verry foggy, wednesday morning still foggy and some 150 km from the area clear blue skies, thursday morning foggy and in the afternoon clear blue skies. I you thought the Dutch weather was terrible, you should go to the Mach Loop area.

Thanks for the company guys and the great time!

We waited for the right light conditions and there she was XV290 at Monday late afternoon, already going down, but a fast walk up, at the steepest part, resulted in the below pictures. A higher position had resulted in less air and more mountain.

It seems you had a nice week all together. It's a sin you didn't find a lot of movements. But I think a trip of this kind is really gorgeaus! and this kind of trip are good also to stay together and have fun!

Haha.....only five minutes :!:

The cars that you see in the photo are the cars for Cad West. The photo was taken from Cad East, and that spot has a small car park at only 5 minutes walking distance (behind the photographer).

From the car park to Cad West (the opposite spot from this photo) was 23 minutes for me. And those who know me realize that with my weight of 100+ kg :eating: my camera bag (22 kg) and my condition :oops: anyone should be able to do it in less than 30 minutes. Frank Noort did it in 14 minutes, but he needed some oxygen for a few minutes..... :lol:

okay, thanks for the info... (It obviously makes it slightly less heroic than it looked, :wink: )

but what a great shots, the fun you guys had "spat van het scherm", as do the pics!

Maybe the RAF benevolend fund should organise an Axalp -like airshow there :-)

Hmmm, despite the low number of aircraft, I think this would have to be on my "to do list" for next year!
