Very nice pics but for someone with that kind of gear your pics look a bit soft. Have you tried sharpening them?

No offense though

That wasn't Sheik ;)

And they often do that.. (for example in a base attack at the open days... ) but also during the demo display. Max power, minimal gain of speed :)

Thermal,

Yes, . . . . you can have a nice camera but at the end of the day the image have to go through a lens. All pictures are taken with the Sigma lens. This lens is not the best in sharpness. And I believe that the UV filter makes it more worse.

I have sharpened my pictures but I am a rooky if it comes to editing images. Recently I bought a book of Scott Kelby bud need to practice a little more. I try to improve my pictures, if anyone have a good advise please do not hesitate to share.

Reach111,

I missed the spitfire, I was walking to the croudy marketplace when the spitfire performed. This was realy frustrating.

I have placed my settings under the pictures.
The sun was really a challenge. But when I analyze my pictures I believe some of them are not sharp. Maybe because of camera movement. I now realize thet I used my image stabilization. With this fast moving vehicles it is maybe better to switch this off. Does anyone have same trouble, un sharp pictures because of image stabilization?

Al feedback is welcome.

Spitfire? There wasn't a spitfire, I was on base and saw all participants. Maybe you mean the P-51 Mustang or the Yak-52?

The sun in the front is always a problem, be sure to turn on the spot meter function. Take a look at my gallery all photos taken against the sun at Volkel in de Wolken. PM or mail me if you need more tips.

For Jet's you don't need IS

For Choppers / Propellor-planes ist very usefull

IS is very usefull:

In the Dark
en with a Low shutterspeed (sluitertijd)

I have one with IS en one without IS

But wen I buy another , it will be with IS !

You need IS for a shot like this! 1/80 with 300x1,4mm, IS mode 2 (I had the camera set for prop-blur on the Trauma  ):
