Holiday in Jordan

Post by PHKCE »

Last month I visited Jordan for a week. Here are some pictures. The quality is not perfect because most of the pictures where made through windows.

1. Some old Tristars parked at Aqaba Airport
Image

2. Royal Jordanian in the morning sun at Queen Alia Airport, Amman
Image

3. Royal Jordanian Airbus A321-231 JY-AYK 'Tafila'
Image

4. Boarding Royal Jordanian Airbus A321-231 JY-AYK for the flight back to Amsterdam
Image

5. Royal Jordanian Airbus A340-212 JY-AID (made through the window of JY-AYK)

Hope you like them.

The Tristars are:

at the right position: CS-TMP Luzair (stored)
in the middle: N194AT Air Charter Express (active)
at the left position: possible HR-AWM Rollins air (ex N163AT)
or N164AT Barq Air

Yesterday another Tristar was ferried from the USA to Aqaba:

Lockheed 1011 -500 1220 N162AT Air Charter Express ferried 21-22oct10 VCV-PHX-SNN-AQJ, ATA cs ex JY-AGC

Very nice holiday destination, hope you had a good time. The pics look fine concidering they're taken from (airplane) windows.
Jordan is pretty high on my wish list to travel to in the middle-east. How were the Jordanians about photographing around the airports??

Kind regards, Jeffrey.

I have had a holiday in Jordan. On the way from Amman to a desert castle I could see F-16's on Al Azraq air base. And in Aqaba there was an air show of the Royal Jordanian Falcons. I believe they were exercising.
Jordan is a beautiful country to visit. :picture:

Hi,

been to Jordan twice in the last 5 years. As soon as I arrived at Amman airport I was rushed into the baggage hall.
Not allowed to take the camera out of my bag. I did try several times, but military police is keeping an eye on all
passengers. Outside the terminal there is only sand and occupied watchtowers every 200 meters. No chance on the
side of the terminals. Don't know about Aqaba and Amman military airfield, but presume it is even more secure. So be
careful if you are going to try, they don't like it. All pics on the internet are taken out of aircraft windows.

Grtz,
Jeroen
