The front section of the COMAC ARJ21 looks a bit "DC-9-ish" to me.

Just a co-incidence I guess, even though Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Factory
did manufacture MD-82s, -83 and two MD90s under licence...
8. China's new chopper
is an AVIC AC311, see http://key.aero/view_news.asp?ID=2716&t ... on=general .

I was in the neighbourhood but found out to late that the Zuhai show was held at the same time
Zuhai is 3 hours flying from Beijing (for those who want to know, Zuhai is just above Macau and across the water from Hong Kong)

Thanks EC

But the airport of Zhuhai Sanzao is to the southwest of Macau. There are straight flights into the airport from Beijing as well. Also during the airshow as the commercial activities continue. From Hong Kong it is about 1 hour by ferry. But..... next show is in 2012.

But be carefull, if you come from Hong Kong or Macau, you will be coming from outside China. You will need a visa for that (or, if you fly from Beijing to HK to go to Zhuhai, you will need a double entry visa).

By the way, I think what you called a Global Express is actually a Bombardier CRJ or maybe a Challenger 800/850 if it is the bizjet version.

But what is that AC-313? I never heard of it before. Seems to have "borrowed" some elements of the Z-8 / Super Frelon!!!

No, that's the AC-311.

The AC-313 is this:

(Sorry but I have no idea incorporate a link into text).

Easy way is to enter China from Macau, then public transport is available(I think) within a few hundred mertes of the border.

I entered China around 13.00 on the 21st,and took a taxi(cost RMB200) to the airport.Return was on a shuttle bus which stopped almost within sight of the Macau border.

In Macau, there is a bus number AP1 which runs from the Chinese border past both ports where connections to Hong Kong are available and the airport. This bus costs MOP4.2(Macau Patacas) to use.Hong Kong Dollars are widely accepted in Macau.
