Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Amsterdam/Schiphol 05-12-2010 photo's

Post by dvdzee »

G'day everybody,

I am a rookie to digital photography and it is now about 3 weeks that I am the proud owner of a Canon 1000D EF-S 18-55mm kit.
So please do not be to hard on me as I am still learning, also when it comes to Photoshopping.
The pictures are cropped; within 2 weeks I hope to get my Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS
Feel free to give me some advice of any kind.

Tight crop and some problems with the light.

This position actually gives interesting light. I find them very nice for 18-55 kitlens pictures.
More space left and right on number 10 and it's top!

Hey Douwe....congreatulations on your first shots, and welcome here!

Your first pictures are made. now let's get to know your camera a little bit better. What would be very nice for us (if we want to be of some good advise) is the EXIF data on your pics. EXIF data gives information about the used settings on your photo's, like shutter time, used diafragma, what ISO settings etc. etc. You can find this information when clicking with the right button of your mouse on the picture and choose "eigenschappen". There you will see the data. That is if you use a windows based system, about Aplle i don't know.....From there on, we can help you going further into the details.

Oh, and by the way, the guys are right about the heavy crop. the plane is locked between the both sides of the frame. you can give your subject a little bit more space, especially on the right side, cause that is the side where the plane is actually moving towards to.

I like all the Emirates shots in this topic. :scramble:

1 A330 ( can't remember it was KL or DL ) with some wingtip vortexes and a rainbow condensation cloud on top of the wings.
