Wonderfull catches, espcially the TAP tails and the TACV 757. Been there last year in February and would really emphasize your opion about the local spotters. I´m looking forward to go there again.

Maarten,

Is the picture of the Lisboa spotter group and the line up of the B707 at runway 03? I have been there more then a year ago and i can remember there was a big road (not in use yet) next to the airport fence. Pictures on my weblog...
Are you standing on that road?

Looking at the picture, it is at the roundabout next to the entrance to the cargo terminal, at runway 03 indeed. That spot is still there, as the road you mention is still not open, and will probably be closed for quite some time.

Ger, yep I'am standing on that closed road, would be not finished in the near future because of economical crisis in Portugal
lot of people where very happy about this (closed road)situation and not only people of aviation :)

Hmmm, Ponte Vasco de Gama, nice memories :P

160 km/h was the average speed :) xD

Also when shooting ILS' at LPMT we had to hold over the bridge sometime :P

I thought TAP only had PW4000 powered A330's, seeing the GE powered one is a nice surprise :)
