FX-52 verdwenen van Niederrhein.

Post by Zipper »

Hi...

The beautiful restaured F-104G FX-52 has left Niederrhein (EDLV).
I was at the airfield on january 15th, with a friend of mine to do a "last photo-shoot".
We promised Henk de Jongh not to publish any photo's before the FX52 had left EDLV.
So, now the 104 has gone, here is a selection of our photo's.
And Henk... thanks for a fantastic oppertunity to do a photo-shoot in an "operational environment"!!!!
BYE F-104!!!!

In photo #3 you can clearly see the name 'Sleegers' on the helmet, is that Sleegers as in scramble member 'sleegertje' in person?

Ciao, MartijnMD11

Hi MartijnMD11

To your question if the guy on picture nr. 3 is Sleegertje, no, he is not...
His name is Leon Sleegers and he is a collector of airmen's equipment and is also the builder of the life-size "ESCI" F-104G cockpit that was at display during the FS (Flight Simulator) weekend in the Aviodeome at Lelystad Airport.
Thanks to him I am the proud owner of a complete F-104G Flying Suit and also a complete F-104G Pressure Suit that was used for the KLu "Zoom" flights from Leeuwarden Airbase in the '60's and '70's.
