Tankertown Ramstein 03-03-2011

Post by Ronaldsnl »

Here a few pics from Ramstein in nice sunny weather and nice aircraft.
On March 2 2 Wisconsin ANG KC135 and a KC10 arrived, they departed in the morning.

This all in around 2 hours time.....

In between a Míldenhall tanker arrived. We expected a Wisconsin but this Mildenhall one is recently added to the Hall's inventory. Image

Also a Gallie arrived:

1 Alabama KC135 was on the platform together with a Mildenhall one, later a Mc Connel KC135 arrived.

This C37 is quite new for Ramstein 76th AS

So March 3 was quite succesfull in the morning, March 1 in the afternoon it wasn't: In 4 hours only 2 C17's arrived and 1 C17 in takeoff, luckily this one departed just after the runwaychange from 09 to 08:

And a local one because of the nice light:

Hope you like them:

Nice pics!

Since when do (some) KC-10's and KC-135 (the Mildenhall one) have pods for air to air refueling?
Never saw that before on USAF tanker aircraft.

I'm currently in England for a spottingtrip. Yesterday I went to Mildenhall. Loads and loads of activity but not one KC-135/KC-10 with the pod...

Nice shots by the way!

Sven
