London-Luton 23-04-2011

Post by LifelinerOne »

Hello everybody,

my boss decided that it was time for my annual "go and learn from our foreign counterparts" trip. This week I will be in England. Today I spent some time at the fence at Luton, which was very, very hot.

Luton is quite a nice airport, with a lot of bizzers parked. There wasn't much movement amongst them, though. Seen were quite some exotic bizzers, but they couldn't be captured on camera. Spotting is done best on the South-side of the airport, where a small road leads to a crash gate. From here nice pictures can be made of traffic using the single runway. You are facing North, so no issue with the sun.

Next to the bizzers, Luton is a base for Ryanair, easyJet, Monarch and Thomson. And that was nice as I hoped to catch some local airlines.

Nice Austrian Challenger rolling out after landing:

Wizzair is also a frequent user of Luton. In an hour 4 A320's arrived, like this HA-LMG:

Appropiate registration for this frog-looking Beech 390:

A nice Thomson B757:

Monarch A320 with extra decals for the Royal Wedding, which is due this Friday:

Sleek looking Global Express in take-off. It could use some color, though:

Definitely the best looking bizzer currently around, the Falcon 7X and this was also a nice Saudi one:

British Hawker:

Blue 737 from Bluebird Cargo:

German Lear 35:

Also this A321 from Monarch has received the "Congratulations Wills & Kate" stickers:

Later in the afternoon, they switched runways, which was good for landing shots like this A319 from easyJet:

Another Global Express in take-off. Note the small Malaysian-flag next to the door:

Challenger N602TS lining up for runway 26:

And finally this B737-700 from easyJet, just because there about to become phased out from the fleet:

Hope you liked them!~

Cheers!
