Soesterberg Spitfire/Mustang fly-by 06-05-2011

Post by WhiskeyDelta »

On 6 may this year, a Spitfire was planned to make several fly-by's at Soesterberg for the reunion of a WO2 fighter squadron. We (the glider club ACvZ) were informed about this fly-by during our daily briefing in the morning. So, 30 minutes before the Spit would arrive, some of us gathered around up in the tower to make pictures and movies. After take-off, we heard the Spitfire calling Dutchmill for further flight information. At the same time, a Mustang was flying around and asked the Spit what his intensions were. After his explanation the Mustang decided to join and so we had four beautiful fly-by's from two fantastic planes!
