Nice pictures. How many flights per day you had at Meiringen? No problem with security? I was there the last week of April and we got chased away from security and could only stand on the official spottersplace and the visitors terrace, no other spots...

When I was there last year, the only problem was when I entered the grass next to the roads (by parking the car or walking).

I talked with the security and he informed me that one of the farmers is giving them big trouble when people go onto the grass.

Conclusion is that as long as you stay of the grass, there are no issues.

Well, i have to say, that as long as you respect the local rules and regulations, you will not have a problem what so ever. i have shooted from different locations, and security passed by several times, but i got not chased away what so ever. i can imagine that the local farmers are pretty fed up with thoses unwanted visitors (spotters), but i just wave at them very friendly, and hope they will leave me in peace.

@ Wim: when i was there they sadly had a "quite" day. Normally they will have 4 waves of about 6 to 8 planes each day. Round 08.30 hours the first wave goes out, which will return approximitly 1 hour later. the second wave goes out at around 10.30, allso returning an hour later. At 13.30 the third wave goes out, and then finally the 4th wave goes out 15.30 and 16.00 hours. Flying the F-5 is a rear site nowadays, is what the information desk told me.

but all in all a very exciting base, cause you can get so close to the action

@ Bas: thanks mate! cheers!

The pilot waving at you looks like a woman. So instead of saluting is it flirting?

Pics are very nice!

Heh heh heh, instead of saluting (or flirting, like you said), she would better ask me for a ride!

LOL! Great pictures. Switzerland is gifted with great nature, nice aircraft and friendly people. Now, if only pricing went down 30%, I really could live there :) :)

Good thing you picked up your old hobby! I like every one of them, including the rainy ones in the other topic.
Tack sharp and everything. What lenses / bodies do you use now? I can't read the EXIFs

Hans.

@ Roel: you got a very good point there, but making some nice spotting trips to Switzerland does do it for me for now.....

Hi hans: thanks mate, i'm enjoying it with great passion again! feels like coming home! thanks for the compliments......i'm using the D200 of Nikon, actually two of them, one mounted with the 300mm F4 and the other one with the 24-70 F2.8. hopefully this year i will buy myself the 70-200 2.8 VRII.

Greeties Menno
