Eindhoven - new photo opportunity (about to disappear soon)

Post by Iwan Bogels »

Hi everybody,

Eindhoven has a new photo opportunity, and it’s about to (at least partially) disappear within a short period from now. In between the military and civil ramps there has always been a large parking lot (P4). In the past few months a 4 stories high parking garage has been built on this spot, with open sides and an open top level.

From the top the view on runway, taxitracks and platforms is absolutely perfect. And all within good range of our cameras. For now it’s also possible to freely shoot in the direction of the military ramp, a view which had been obscured by camouflage nets for a long time. But with all operations exposed so clearly, the KLu is about to take measures to prevent viewing and photography in that direction by new means.

Therefore the chances to photograph local and visiting aircraft parked at the military ramp will only last for a (very!) short time to come, and you may want to grab this opportunity now that you still can. Hopefully the view at the runway and civil ramps will remain unobstructed in the future.

Here are the results of DC-10 T-255 coming back from a training flight on 8 May.

Happy shooting,
Iwan

Yup, just the way we had hoped it would be! :-) I'll be back soon for some more of these "top-shots" before the opportunity is lost forever.

Cheers,
Iwan

By security. He was not dutch from origin. I think he was an Indier or indonesian.

He said to us that we had 1 minute to move, because the military does not like people up there (his words).

He was driving a grey volvo s40 and he must have followed us from the entrance, he was there ar the smame time we arrived at the top.

Well if he is a civil security guy with responsibility for the car park he has a point. But it's off course BS to say something he said. He has nothing to do with the Mil side of the airport. KMAR or LB are for that.

Always nice those security nitwits.....

Always nice those security nitwits.....

Off-topic mode on, whether it being a nitwit or not ... It might be worth to put in a bit more respect ? After all we are talking about a fellow homosapiens.
Off-topic mode off, Guys enjoy it as long as it lasts ! Nice shots can be made, judging Iwan his shots.

Grtz, Rene
