basevisit Skrydstrup/Laage

Post by mirage 69 »

Last week I went to Danmark and Germany. Panoravia arranged 2 visits, beside these two visists we went looking for some wrecks.
We started on wednesmorning at 03.00 o'clock, first stop was a F-104 in Flensburg.
Image
As the visit at Skrydstrup started at 09.30hrs we had some time left to look for the F-84 in the kindergarten at Vojens
Image
From here it's only a 10 minute drive to Skrydstrup, just before we arrived it started raining...
Image
Despite of the weather we had a nice/relaxed visit (special thanks to Mr.Jensen and his team)
It started at the fire post somewhere along the runway when a few F-16's going take of.
Image
After our chance to get take off pictures we went to 727ESK to take pictures in there shelterarea.

Then we went to 730ESK.

The lunch was in a building just behind the preserved F-16

After the lunch we went on to the SAR helo

Then on to the T-17 Flight, they were in a kind of tent shelter.
Image

In the big hanger overthere was also a T-17 and an F-16.

Or last stop on the base was the dump/fire brigade.

After thanking Mr.Jensen from the RDAF we went back to Germany. As the sun came out again we decided to take a look at Jagel.(as it's not far from the highway).

Image

Beside these 2 gateguards we saw 2 C-160's on the field but no movements.....so on to Hohn.

After this long day it's time to move on to our hotel in Gustrow, tomtom tells me it's only 385km......
The visit at Laage start at 11.00am because the Eurofighters will fly only in the afternoon.
In the morning we first went to the hospital in Gustrow were a BMI Ec-135 is active.

The weather is still good but clouds will come in the afternoon. At 11.00 o'clock we met Mr. Hütten at the gate in Laage.
Mr. Hütten arranged a very good visit for us, we first went to servicehanger were we saw 9 €fighters. This was the only place were we couldn't make pictures.
After that we visited every plane on the base!
A few pictures from this Panoravia base visit.

The last Eurofighter landed at 16.25hrs at Laage. At this time it started raining again. We were able to stay for the second wave but, the rain and the fact that we had to drive 500km before we were at home, decided us to leave Laage. (and we had seen every Eurofighter on Laage)
We want to thank Alfons Hütten for this nice visit.

@ Chabu,

no the Phantom isn't operational anymore.
In the future it will move to Gatow (museum). It has some nice special colors and is preserved inside an old NVA shelter!
