Heard it on Apron Control today, did they really tow it with "IO" (A Mercedes jeep) or did I hear it wrong.....

Anyways, pictures of tow trucks LG and LI are welcome too :)

That is one goooood looking plane! Too bad it's not going to fly anymore, would have looked awesome at the Aviodrome, next to the other Friendships.

Maybe they should paint the aviodrome one as well?

Nice shot!
Good to see she has here engines back, saw her there in the beginning of this year, looked very sad without engines.

Any idea how long she will be staying there?
Before posing as gate guard?

The LH engine is missing the turbine, the RH engine eppears to be intact (you can see the turbine, what is left under the cowlings I dont know)

How long she will stay there is unknown to me

Why? Both planes at the Aviodrome are painted nicely (NLM CityHopper and prototype colours)...

What are the plans for this true gem of Dutch Aviation History , always wondered why there was no airplanes on static display at the former Fokker Site , would have been awesome to see an F-27/28/50/70/100/VFW-614 and even a 1:10 scale model of the F-29 on static display , so much aviation history. Maybe somebody can shed some light on this , would it even be a possible to have all the gem's re-united at Schiphol - Oost (Ringvaart) as a static display team park ?

Will be placed as static display at the Anthony Fokker Business Park, Oude Meer. (Former Fokker Factories)

I don't have a question about the aircraft, but about the apon it sits on: this is a very old ramp by the looks of it? Does it date back to WW2, cause it all started at Schiphol East in those days I think? I'm not able to identify this apron on sattelite photos...

Stephan

Stephan,

This is the apron where Hangar 9 supposed to be the old ''kingsford smith'' hangar, it has been scrapped a few years back.
Its located between Hangar 10 and the KLM engine shop.
