OK, here goes our (and my!) first day at Nellis AFB, home of Red Flag. As someone used to Leeuwarden or Florennes for that matter, Nellis is somewhat of a disappointment at first. At the western end, there is Alto Avenue which is good for morning landing shots. However, the jets tend to wheel almost straight over you. The famed Speedway spot or rather a string of spots are all along North Las Vegas Boulevard. Just take your pick depending on what you want, banking or straight shots. During Day 3 I played it safe, during Day 4 I went further up north for banking type of shots. A 300 mm lens is a bare bones minimum though!

Then, it was on to the Speedway as the light got better there.
